November 11, 2012

Breaking News….

An audio CD recording of a performance of “Rebecca, the story of Rebecca Ebey” will be released around December 1st. “Rebecca” is a recreation of the life of Rebecca Ebey, wife of Isaac Ebey, early Washington pioneer and legislator. The lands which Rebecca and Isaac settled on Whidbey Island, combined with other early land claims, became the nation’s first National Historical Reserve, Ebey’s Landing, in 1978. The recording is a live performance of the entire show performed in the summer of 2012 on the Ebey’s Landing Reserve lands in the historic Crockett Barn near Coupeville, WA. The show premiered at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts in March 2012 as part of the WICA Local Artists Series and received the 2011 Huebner Grant for Historical Storytelling from the National Storytelling Network in Jonesborough, Tennessee. A recording release celebration will be announced at a later date. Stay tuned!
